My Grappa barrique ia a premium grappa distilled in the region of Piedmont from a blend of 4
different wine pressings, the remaining of the wine skins, seeds and pulps of the grape, and in
particularly coming out from Moscato d'Asti, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo wine pressed grapes.
We are selecting the wine pressings very carefully from the best wine makers and cooperative cellars
after the vintage and we use to protect these raw materials in special vacuum plastic rolls which block
the oxidation of the pressings and help the fermentation of the white pressings ( Moscato), in order to
get the sugars contained in the pressed grapes transformed in alcohol and so ready for the distillation.
The pressings are distilled in both discontinuous (copper pot still alembics) and continuous
(distillation tower) cycles, in order to mix a perfumed spirit juice with a more neutral and smooth
product.
The grappa obtained contains very low methanol and fusel oils impurities and after the distillation is
stored for over 2 years in oak barrels, then is successively refined from 6 to 9 and even 12 months in
small 220 liters oak barrels.
My Grappa barrique, at 43% alc./vol is fruity, aromatic with hints of vanilla, apricot, peach and spicy
fragrancies.
Delicious after meal digestive spirit, it should preferably be drunk straight on in a special balloon glass
typical for cognacs and the glass should possibly be warmed up. Also delicious with bitter chocolate
and drunk by smoking a nice cigar.
During summertime, this grappa could be consumed on the rocks like the best Single Malt whiskies,
which is now a new trendy way of drinking grappa in some US markets.
